Cosy up your home with beautiful cushions of all colours and sizes.

Household tip type: Household

1. Paint it on

Give an old scatter cushion new life by using fabric paint to paint the outline of an oversized flower or other interesting design onto it in a contrasting colour.

2. Jumper round

An old woolly jumper makes a fabulously soft and cosy cushion cover: cut the jumper to the size of your cushion and sew a seam inside at the top. Place cushion in the cover and close with a blanket stitch in a bright contrasting colour.

3. Flower fun

Jazz up an old cushion with ribbons and felt flowers. Cut circles of different colours and sizes from felt, place a button on top and stitch together. Stick onto your cushion with fabric glue and add ribbons for stems. Cut out some felt leaves and stick them on too. Finish by gluing a pompom ribbon frame around the flowers.

4. Chair cushion

Sew colourful ribbons onto chair cushions to add a pretty decorative edge and prevent them from slipping off the chair when the cat leaps up!
