A bouquet garni is a collection of herbs tied together in muslin, used to enhance the flavour of stews, broths or stocks.

Household tip type: In the Kitchen

Step 1

  • Cut a circle out of muslin
  • Place 2-3 sprigs of fresh thyme, 1 bay leaf and 3 sprigs of parsley in the centre.

Step 2
  • Pull the edges together to make a little bundle and tie with string

Step 3
  • Pop bouquet garni into your pot
  • Note: fishing out the bouquet after cooking will be a lot easier if
you tie it to the handle of the pot
