Method
  • Combine dough ingredients in a bowl and whisk until a smooth, slightly thick batter forms. 
  • Set aside for an hour or overnight.
  • Place syrup ingredients in a small saucepan and stir over a low heat until sugar has dissolved.
  • Reduce for 5 minutes, then remove from heat.
  • Pour jalebi (dough) mixture into a disposable piping bag and cut a 3mm tip.
  • Heat oil in a saucepan and pipe spirals of dough into hot oil.
  • Fry until golden on both sides, then drain and place into syrup for 1 minute.
  • Place on a plate and serve.
