Another wheat-free treat! For the best results store mixture in an airtight container and make sure the marshmallows are fresh.
RECIPE TYPE:Kids meals
90 grams Kerrygold pure Irish butter
7 cups marshmallows, (white) cut into pieces
1 pinch PnP salt
7 cups rice krispies
Grease a 20x30cm cake tin, line with baking paper and grease again
Melt the butter, marshmallows and salt together in a pot over a low heat until smooth. Add the Rice Krispies and mix well.
Spoon the mixture into the lined cake tin
Grease your hands with non-stick spray or a little bit of oil and press the mixture into the tin to get rid of any air bubbles. Spread evenly and make sure that the mixture is pressed into the corners so that you can get perfect squares once set.
Allow to cool
Once set, turn out onto a chopping board and cut into squares
Use pink marshmallow and strawberry puffed cereal to make pink Rice Krispie treats
Replace the Rice Krispies with Fruit Loops or Coco Pops for different variations
Make a Rice Krispie castle: make different colours of the Rice Krispie Treats and cut them into equal sized squares (5cm). Stack them to form a castle. Decorate and make some flags for your castles by using paper and toothpicks.
