Method
  • Melt margarine in a frying pan.
  • Fry bacon until golden and crispy.
  • Strain and set aside.
  • Add onion and garlic to pan and fry until golden.
  • Stir through breadcrumbs and thyme.
  • Transfer mixture to a bowl and stir in bacon until well combined.
  • Season stuffing and set aside to cool.


Step 1

  • Rinse chicken (or turkey), pat dry and season cavity.

Step 2

  • Carefully push stuffing into bird, a little at a time, to ensure cavity is properly filled.

Step 3

  • Truss bird's legs together and secure firmly with butcher's string.
  • Roast for an extra 25-30 minutes for ready-cooked stuffing, or 40 minutes for uncooked stuffing.
