Pick n Pay's online shop remembers to call a customer's grandmother to alert her that her groceries have been dispatched.

Greetings from Cape Town,

I would like to tell you a little story about my experience with one of your staff members, Shirley Victor, at William Moffett Hyper.

About three months ago I placed an order via your online service for my grandmother. I am in Cape Town and my grandmother lives in Port Elizabeth. I requested that someone phone me before the delivery was made so that I could let my grandmother know that they were coming. Shirley gave me a call to tell me the delivery was going to be done and asked me for my grandmother's number to make the call. She said she wouldn't mind phoning my grandma herself. The delivery was made and my grandma was very happy.

Last week, I placed another order, but forgot to ask them to phone me or my grandmother. The morning of the delivery day, Shirley phoned me to ask whether she should phone my grandma again. After months, she remembered that grandma needed a call and phoned me to get her number again.

You can give Shirley your employee of the month award in my opinion! Such good service with such friendliness is very rare these days and was a pleasant surprise. I did thank Shirley, but you can thank her again for me, if you don't mind. Well done to you and your staff!
